TAYSIDE Police have released further details about a mini-bus crash which occurred on the outskirts of Forfar yesterday afternoon, in which three pupils were injured.

Initial reports suggested the mini-bus, carrying 14 school children, had overturned leaving three children with minor injuries and several others suffering from shock.

The Mercedes Sprinter mini-bus operated by JP Coaches had picked up pupils from Forfar Academy and Langlands Primary in Forfar shortly after 4 pm and was negotiating the roundabout near Orchardbank Industrial Estate when the incident occurred. The bus left the road but did not over-turn.

It apparently mounted the kerb and came to rest on the roadside embankment on the west side of the roundabout.

Emergency services were quickly in attendance and three children were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel for minor injuries.

One sustained a bump to the head, one was treated for a minor cut on their head, and another was complaining of muscular pain.

All left in the company of their parents after treatment.

The remaining children were collected and taken home.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to get in touch with Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222.
