A GROUP of Tayside DJs helped Thorntons law firm launch their annual charity wills campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of a will.
During November, instead of paying a fee to Thorntons for preparing or updating a will, clients will instead make a donation to Cash for Kids.
The firm first ran the charity wills campaign in 1996 and has raised more than £140,000 in the past 16 years.
Thorntons will once again team up with Radio Tay to raise funds for the listeners’ charity, which helps children and young people across Tayside. Cash for Kids helps a wide variety of causes from buying specialist equipment for children with disabilities, respite for families with a chronically ill child and helping to fund play schemes.
Radio Tay DJ Stuart Webster was the first to make a will, while launching this year’s campaign alongside members of the Thorntons team.
Stuart said: “Thorntons’ annual Wills Month is always a great success. The money it raises goes to helping some of the most vulnerable children in our community and that support is vital. However it also highlights how important it is to have an up-to-date will. “
He added: “No matter what age you are, there are a number of problems that can arise from not having a will in place. It is a relatively quick and easy process that Thorntons can take you through and there is no better time than this November to arrange it.”
Thorntons’ associate Claire Newton said: “Thorntons is thrilled to be teaming up with our friends at Radio Tay again on our Charity Will campaign. We are dedicated to raising as much money as possible for an extremely deserving local cause, as well as stressing the importance of having a current will.”
