Third wedding for the Earl of Strathmore

THE 18th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne has married for a third time.

Michael Bowes-Lyon (55) wed Karen Baxter at Glamis House.

A spokesman for the Queen’s first cousin said the families of both parties, including the earl’s mother Mary, Dowager Countess of Strathmore, and his four sons are “delighted”.

The earl’s wife managed the Forfar ironmongers David Irons & Sons, which the earl acquired in 2006.

The former Scots Guards captain and his first wife, Isobel, split in 2004 after a 20-year marriage. They have three sons.

A year later the earl married Damaris Elizabeth Stuart-William after she gave birth to a son.

The marriage broke down three years later.

Glamis Castle has been the historic seat of the Bowes-Lyon family since 1372.
