Third marriage for the Earl of Strathmore

THE EARL of Strathmore will marry for the third time he has confirmed.

In a statement from David Broadfoot, Glamis Castle administrator, Michael Bowes-Lyon, the 18th Earl announced that he plans to marry his long-term partner Karen Baxter.

The statement said: “After a long-term relationship, the Earl of Strathmore has announced his intention to marry his partner, Ms Baxter.

“The earl leads a quiet private life having given up a career which spans the Scots Guards, the City and the House of Lords.

“The earl’s mother, the Dowager Countess of Strathmore, his sons and his two sisters are highly delighted at the news and it has brought great happiness to all concerned.

“The earl lives with Ms Baxter and her two daughters on the estate at Glamis.”
