The Old Masons has the X-Factor for kids charity

FORGET Misha B, Amelia Lily or Little Mix, to name but a few - Forfar’s very own X-Factor hopefuls are gearing up for another karaoke cruncher this Sunday in the Old Masons Arms.

This annual event, which raises funds for the hostelry’s charity, Kids Into Sport, is always a popular with local singers doing their best to impress the judges and sing their way to winning the £200 top prize.

Successful heats have already been held and the stage is set for this Sunday’s final, which starts at 8 pm.

The final will feature 16 contestants and, if the past few years are anything to go by, they are in for a tough competition as they are scrutinised by the vociferous large audience and the very judgemental judges.

The event is held every year and has raised thousand of pounds for K I S, the Masons’ own charity that raises funds for local youth clubs and individuals who require assistance for equipment or training facilities

As in past years the contestants will be whittled down to just two finalists who will go head to head in a “sing-off” for the first prize.

The final is hosted by the popular Dave Eggie and a raffle will be held during the event. If you require seating it is advised you turn up early.
