A free family fun day will be held at the Tesco store in Forfar this Saturday in aid of the Guide Dogs Training School.

A kids’ entertainer, stilt walker and free face painting will be there from 11 am to 4 pm.

Guide Dogs representatives will also be at the store on Castle Street with their interactive Guide Dogs exhibition unit providing information about the charity.

There will also be some special canine guests, who will demonstrate what they learn every day at the Forfar Guide Dogs Training School.

Store manager Calum Telford and his team will be on hand to raise money for the charity, Calum said: “We are delighted to be able to hold an event on behalf of Guide Dogs. We aim to raise as much money as possible! I hope all of our customers enjoy the entertainment.”

Alis Atagan, Guide Dogs District Fund-raiser for North of Scotland, said: “It is really important for us to get involved in events such as this because we can raise a significant amount of money and increase awareness of Guide Dogs.

“It costs just under £50,000 to train a Guide Dog from birth to retirement.

“We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generous donations from the public to fund our core services”

As well as supporting Guide Dogs this weekend, the store launched their promotion which rewards customers with a free £20 gift card!
