A DEVELOPMENT plan covering four council areas and the next 20 years has been short listed for a top industry award.
TAYplan’s strategic development plan is one of 34 finalists across nine categories in the prestigious UK Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) planning awards.
Entries are judged by a panel of planning experts who will examine written submissions, carry out interviews and conduct site visits.
The overall winner will pick up the coveted Silver Jubilee Cup. President of the RTPI Richard Summers said: “The shortlist features a wide range of exciting projects and highlights the strength of planning and the professionalism of planners in the UK.
“Each project demonstrates its own innovation and creativity. The candidates have shown excellence in each of the award categories and the judges have identified an outstanding shortlist.”
The RTPI Planning Awards were established in 1978, and developed into the UK’s premier awards for planning, recognising the very best practice and rewarding outstanding achievement in the profession.TAYplan, is the Strategic Development Planning Authority covering Dundee, Perth and Kinross, Angus and north east Fife.
The plan, entered in the spatial strategies category, will replace existing council structure plans when it is approved by Scottish Ministers and sets out a framework for growth in the Dundee City Region.
