Taxi driver assault: appeal for witnesses

Tayside Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted in Kemsley Park, Forfar in the early hours of Sunday, July 22.

At about 2 am, the taxi driver picked up six men in the Candle Lane/Dock Street area of Dundee and drove them through to Forfar, arriving there about 2.15 am.

The taxi is described as van style and light coloured.

On the men leaving the taxi, the taxi driver was subjected to an unprovoked attack whilst sitting within his cab and was unable to defend himself.

One suspect is described as being about six foot tall, of stocky build and a wearing a blue polo shirt and jeans and his hair was swept over to the side.

Two other men within the group may have been wearing white t-shirts.
