RAMBLERS Scotland will be encouraging people to get outdoors and enjoy a short walk as part of the Ramblers Get Walking Week from May 4 until 11, aiming to get 100,000 people to their feet.
Ramblers Scotland knows that getting more people out walking will lead to healthier and happier lifestyles, so this May they are making it easier than ever to take those first steps. With it being the Year of Natural Scotland, there is no better time to get outdoors and get active in beautiful surroundings – from walking in the countryside or along the coast, to exploring green spaces in towns and cities. During Get Walking Week a number of Ramblers Scotland groups will be leading free short walks of five miles or less led by experienced walk leaders, and they’re also encouraging people to step out with family or friends for a short walk by following their easy, 12 step walking plan.
