The November meeting of the Kirriemuir Inner Wheel took the form of an Open Night held at the Golf Club.
Visitors from six neighbouring clubs joined the ladies for a meal and all were warmly welcomed by President Meg Williams.
Speaker for the evening was Gwyn Gray with her topic ‘My Life in and out of the Theatre’. Gwyn entertained with stories, readings and sketches from her dancing, acting and drama-teaching career.
Joyce Grenfell’s famous Nursery School sketch, and equally amusing poem related by three ex-pat ladies who had “lost” their husbands and a short description of the perfect golf hole were followed by a hilarious poem in which a lady of mature years tries to buy a bathing costume.
All these and more excerpts from Gwyn’s one woman show kept her audience in stitches.
