Students at Angus College were recently given a taste of a healthy start to the day with free porridge.
A variety of toppings including dried fruit, brown sugar, honey and syrup was offered with the porridge and students were lining up to sample the warming breakfast.
The healthy promotion, which ran last week, was headed up by student learner engagement officer, Katie Anderson and student health and well-being officer, Liz O’Rourke.
Katie said: “We have been noticing a rise in our students eating chips earlier and earlier in the day and we felt that perhaps we could convince them that there are healthier and cheaper alternatives available.
“Many of our students, particularly those in the construction and painting and decorating workshops, have a fairly active and physically demanding day and porridge is just the thing to sustain them throughout their classes.”
