A SPONSORED skydive has raised an impressive amount of cash.

Donald Forbes (42) and his friend, Michael Arbuckle (47), took on the challenging feat on Saturday, August 11, this year.

The jump proved to be worthwhile with the pair receiving over £3,000 in sponsor money.

The duo’s skydive took place at Errol airfield in a bid to raise funds for the Archie Foundation at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, where Donald’s daughter, Laura, has been receiving cancer treatment since September 1, last year.

Laura (15) sustained an injury to her knee in a fall on a Duke of Edinburgh trip last year. The injury wouldn’t heal properly and she began to struggle with her mobility.

Last September, after many hospital visits and appointments, Laura and her family were told that she had bone cancer in her knee, and Laura immediately began chemotherapy.

Laura underwent surgery three days before Christmas and after a 13-hour operation to replace her knee, she was informed that her chemotherapy had to continue for a further 30 weeks.

Donald’s wife, Audrey, said: “We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and of course those who sponsored the guys.”
