Society making pantomime plans

Having held its annual general meeting two weeks ago, Forfar Musical Society is excited to be beginning another successful year, starting with the annual pantomime Dick Whittington in December.

This year’s pantomime will run from Wednesday, December 12 to the matinee on Saturday, December 15.

“Before we begin our rehearsals however, a production team is still to be put in place,” explains society spokesperson.

“If you would be interested in either producing or choreographing the pantomime, please contact myself, Susan Douglas (president) on the society’s phone on 07842955901 by Friday, July 20 to discuss.

“As always, we are also very interested in welcoming new members to our society, both on and off-stage.

“Our first meeting will be on Monday, August 6 at the Boys’ Brigade Hall in Forfar at 7.30 pm.

“This will be a workshop run by our new production team and society members, introducing both new and present members to what our pantomime involves.

“Adult on-stage members must be 14 years old and above.

“Off-stage help is also vital for the show’s sucess.

“Therefore, if there is anyone interested in helping with roles such as backstage crew, scenery construction, front of house staff and lighting during the week of the show, please contact us on the above number.

“Everyone involved in our shows, both on and off-stage is an important part of a successful and fun rehearsal period and show week.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone interested in joining us on Monday, August 6.
