THE main award-winners in the produce, baking, handicraft, photography and floral art competitions staged at the annual Kirrie Show, held at East Muirhead of Logie, by Kirriemuir, on Saturday, July 17 were as follows:-
Jenny Aitken Rosebowl for most points overall, Mrs Ethel O’Donnell; Spott Cup for most points in produce, baking and handicrafts, Mrs Ethel O’Donnell; Mrs M. McLaren Salver for the runner-up, Mrs Diane Murray.
Taylor Salver for most points in produce and baking, Mrs Diane Murray. Lady mackie of Benshie Rosebowl for most points in handicrafts, Mrs Sheila Bruce; Breckenridge Salver for the most outstanding exhibit in the handicrafts section, Mrs Sheila Bruce.
The McQueen Cup for most points in knitting, Mrs Lina Smeaton; Gibson Salver for most points in floral art, Mrs Shona Grant; Wilson Shield for most points in photography, Mrs Sandra Boath; R. & C. Lang Quaich for most outstanding entry in the children’s section, Ella Farquharson; special prize for anyone under the age of 16 with most points in athe open section, Anna Kidd.
The winners of the Kirriemuir Boys’ Brigade sponsored children’s section:- six years and under, Ella Dunn; seven to ten years, Ella Farquharson; 11 to 16 years, Amber Ogg.
