Forfar Academy staff have launched an appeal for information regarding some school prizes as they prepare to move into the new campus.
The community campus, due to be completed next year, will replace the existing Forfar Academy, Lochside Leisure Centre and Forfar Swimming Pool,
As staff and pupils look forward to next year the teachers felt it was an appropriate time to review its information on the various prizes awarded at the annual prize giving ceremony, where academic and sporting achievements are recognised.
Some of the prizes are given in memory of former pupils or members of staff.
Sadly, with the passing of time, the school has lost contact with some of the donors and their families. Sometimes, too, the story behind the donation has also been forgotten.
A school spokesperson said: “The school believes it is important to remedy this situation as we prepare to move into the new school building.
“We are therefore now trying to collate information about these awards and their donors and seek the help of the local community.”
In particular, they are looking for information about the Frances Duncan Shield, the Graham Cup and Winner’s Medal, the Dr Jamieson Award for Services to School, the Susan Anderson Johnston Essay Prize, the Kinnear Cup & Winner’s Medal, the Jenny Lowson Dux Medal, the Nicoll Award for Craft & Skills, the Ogilvie McDuff Robertson Award for Music, the Ramsay Cup and Winner’s Medal, the Renilson Cup and Winner’s Medal, the Scott Medal and Prize for English and the Kirsty Simpson Award.
