TAYSIDE Police is urging all road users to prepare for reduced daylight hours and potentially poorer weather throughout the coming months.

Police Constable Scott Anderson told this month’s meeting of Forfar Community Council this time of year raises a number of safety concerns for road users. He said: “This is the time of year to ensure that motorists don’t get caught out and they, and their vehicles, are suitably prepared for weather conditions. Ensure that brakes, tyres, lights, windscreens, batteries and wiper blades are in good condition, engine coolant levels are topped up and radiators contain anti-freeze. Ignorance is no excuse, so please ensure someone else checks if you are unable to.”
