A marvellous evening of entertainment is guaranteed in Forfar on Tuesday, November 17 when the Russian Chamber Choir, Voskresenije (“Resurrection”), return to delight their audience in the East & Old Parish Church with their wonderful concert of sacred and folk music.
The eight professional male and female vocalists, together with musical director, Jury Maruk who founded the choir in 1993, have all studied at St. Petersburg Conservatoire in Russia and are soloists in their own right.
Each year they tour the United Kingdom, performing their unique blend of a capella music.
As happened last year, choir members will be accommodated by host church families in Forfar before and after their performance in the sanctuary.
The concert starts at 7.30pm, there will be an interval for refreshments and a chance to buy the group’s CDs and Russian shawls. Tickets are £10 available from church members now, or in the Bigkirk shop.
