Forfar Rotary president Tim Hale had the pleasant duty of adding to the ranks when he welcomed new Rotarian Jim McCluskey.
Jim is well known in the town where his work in the Salvation Army is appreciated by many. Introduced by Rotarian Andy McCafferty he will no doubt be an asset to Forfar Rotary and his skills will be put to good use.
President Tim also welcomed the evening’s speaker, Ann Marie McMaster, who gave a talk and illustration on the problems caused by wild mink. This predator is causing wide spread damage to indigenous birds and small mammals. Mink kill indiscriminately and will wipe out water vole families, bird nests with eggs or chicks etc.
Members of the public are encouraged to report sightings of wild mink so that they can be controlled and their destructive nature kept to a minimum.
The vote of thanks was proposed by David Valentine.
