The latest £250 monthly sponsorship cheque presented by the Forfar Roof Truss Company was music to the ears of members of the Tayside Symphony Orchestra.
The award, run in conjunction with the Forfar Dispatch and Kirriemuir Herald, will go towards the cost of sheet music for the orchestra’s three concerts held in the Reid Hall every year.
The first concert for 2015 takes place this Saturday and takes the form of a ‘February Flourish’.
The programme consists of music from films/shows including selections from ‘Wicked’, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Gilbert and Sullivan’ and the James Bond movies.
TSO chairman Bill McLeod said: “It costs between £3,500 and £4,000 to put on a concert.
“There are costs like travelling expenses, hiring the hall, producing programmes. The Roof Truss award will help defray our costs and will be used to purchase sheet music for our concerts.”
The Forfar Roof Truss £250 sponsorship cheque is awarded monthly.
