Angus MSPs Graeme Dey and Nigel Don visited Angus Archives at Restenneth, by Forfar last week where they discussed how stories from Angus’ rich heritage could bring more tourists to this ancient and “historically fascinating” region.

They met Norman Atkinson, Angus Council cultural services manager and the archive manager Fiona Scharlau who described the work of the archive.

Commenting on the visit, Mr Don said: “We were very interested to meet the team at the archive and see the magnificent work they do.

Mr Dey, MSP for Angus South added: “Angus is a treasure trove of history and we need the council and heritage agencies working in partnership with the attractions to highlight what the area has to offer.

“We need to get the message across to local people and those from further afield that there’s lots to see and enjoy in Angus.”
