THE underpass on the A94 at the Glamis interchange near McDonald’s is closed to traffic throughout this week while resurfacing work is done.
The roundabout on the Forfar side of the underpass is also being resurfaced.
Traffic lights are in operation at the roundabout and the exit to Orchardbank Business Park is closed.
Access to the business park is from Orchard Loan, at Don & Low on Glamis Road.
Diversions are in operation as follows:
Traffic approaching Forfar on the A90 from the south is being diverted to the Kirriemuir Road junction and then back south to the Glamis Road junction and in to the town through the roundabout.
Southbound traffic from Forfar is using the junction as normal.
Northbound traffic from Forfar is being diverted south to the Douglastown junction then onto the A90 northbound
Westbound traffic to Perth is using the Douglastown junction, back north and west off at the Glamis junction
Local bus services are also being affected during the works as follows:-
Forfar Town Services 23, 23C & 24 are not able to serve Orchardbank; Services 23 & 24 are running to their normal route via Westfield Loan and Glamis Road but are not extending to the Orchardbank roundabout; Service 23C terminates at Graham Crescent.
Services 124 & 125 are running via Kinnettles, A90, Dundee Road and Westfield Loan to and from Glamis Road.
Scottish Citylink/Megabus services are picking up and setting down at the stops on the A90 at Kinnettles Road end.
The 07:40 Service 27A from Kirriemuir to Arbroath is running via the A90 and Glamis Road and not via Orchard Loan.
The 16:40 return journey is not able to serve Glamis Road and Orchardbank and is instead running via Brechin Road and Kirriemuir Road to Padanaram and onwards to Kirriemuir.
In order that passengers can still access Orchardbank, a minibus shuttle service is in place by Angus Council which is being operated by JP Minicoaches. This service is only picking up and setting down passengers whose journeys start or finish at Orchardbank.
