ROCKERS from a’ the airts converged on Kirriemuir at the weekend, for the annual Bon Scott weekend.
The Bon-Fest marks the life of the former AC/DC front man Bon Scott, who was born and spent his early years in Kirriemuir before heading Down Under.
A sell-out Saturday night concert saw continental outfit Bon – The AC/DC Show play to a packed Kirriemuir Town Hall. They were supported by The Ruckus and Saz.
The Friday night fare saw Italian band Boun Scotch as the headline act, supported by Restless Natives and Emerald Sunday.
There were also free live music sessions in a number of the local hostelries, featuring the cream of local musicians.
Organised by Graham Galloway, the event also boasted a Bon Scott exhibition at the Gateway to the Glens Musuem.
Among the exhibits on display was a fabulous framed gold disc on display which was presented to Bon Scott in 1976 to mark the sale of more than 500,000 copies of AC/DC’s first album High Voltage.
The disc has kindly been loaned to the museum for display during the Bon Fest weekend from a fan in Austria.
