While some local events have fallen foul of the weather and Kirriemuir Show became a casualty after Friday’s heavy rain, the annual Glen Clova Folk and Ale Festival managed to go ahead.
Hundreds of revellers beat a path to the glen despite a howling gale and inclement weather to pitch their tends and park their caravans to enjoy the annual event.
Centred on the Glen Clova Hotel, a number of bands entertained over the three evenings and also performed during the day within a marquee. Those attending included a number of well-known local acts including Headroom, Emerald Sunday, Heidrum, and The Blend. Various brands of beer and cider were also on tap throughout the weekend to make sure that the festival went with a swing while those attending were sustained by a range of as was the delicious food including a roast pig.
Organiser Lesley McArthur said: “We were pleased that so many people were dedicated enough to still come when the weather was so bad and it cleared up on Saturday afternoon. The event just gets stronger every year.”
