RAFA visited by area director

THE ANGUS branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA) had a most interesting visit from Gair Brisbane, the area director of Scotland and Northern Ireland, at their July meeting.

Mr Brisbane gave a very entertaining illustrated talk on what RAFA is doing to help our boys and girls at home and in tour abroad - especially in Afghanistan.

Two instances are telephone call-time home to families and Storybook Wings which is stories that are recorded and played to children at home when their parents are on active service.

There is always a welfare officer available to help anyone, especially the old and disabled.

The chairman produced a beautiful cake to celebrate the branches’ birthday.

The Angus branch meets on the second Thursday of every month at 7.30pm at the Newton Hotel, Kirriemuir. Anybody who has associations with the RAF men and women will be made very welcome.

Will members please note that there will be no meeting in August due to holidays.
