Publican’s licence suspended

ANGUS Licensing Board has suspended the personal licence of a Forfar publican following a drink driving conviction.

Karen Kennedy, the premises manager of the Osnaburg Bar, was convicted of a drink driving offence in February.

Ms Kennedy informed the Angus Licensing Board of the conviction, and at yesterday’s licensing board meeting members decided to suspend her personal licence for six months.

Under licensing laws, licensed premises are required to have a designated premises manager, and that individual is required to have a personal licence.

The licence holder for the Osnaburg Bar, Green King Retailing Ltd, has notified Angus Council that they will be submitting an application form to nominate a new designated premises manager; they must do so by April 25.

The Osnaburg Bar can trade as normal in the interim.
