THE results of the 2011 Photo Competition run by the Glens & Kirriemuir Old Parish Church for the 2012 calendar were announced during the church service on Sunday after the public had voted for their favourite photos during the recent exhibition of all the entries.

The prizes were presented by the Rev. Linda Stevens as follows:- 1, Robert France for ‘Maryton Lane’; 2, Michael Visocchi for ‘Frosty Morning in Kirriemuir’; 3, J. W. Lawrence for ‘North Esk, Edzell’.

The prize for the member of the public whose list of choices was closest to the final calendar was won by Fiona Donald.

The other photos included in the calendar are as follows:- ‘Sheep at Doonies, Glenisla’ by John Davidson; ‘Kirrie Daffs’ by Derek Ramsay; ‘A Dog’s Life’ and ‘Rhododendrons, Cortachy’ by Dave Robb; ‘Lintrathen Loch’ by Malcolm McBeath; ‘Cortachy Castle Gardens’ by Christine Rooney; ‘Heavy Horse, Kirrie Show’ by Tricia Brown; ‘South Esk, Cortachy’ by J.W. Lawrence and ‘Kirriemuir Old Parish Church’ by Robert France.

The calendar continues to go from strength to strength and is a major fund-raiser for the church.

The local nature of the photographs is appreciated by people all over the world who receive the calendar each year.

The calendar will shortly go to the printer and will be on sale from the middle of July.

For yet another year the price is being held at £5.
