Angus Council is hosting a number of events for local people to find out more about having Power of Attorney granted to a trusted relative or friend.
Many people are unaware that if they become ill or injured and are unable to make decisions for themselves, no-one else can do this on their behalf unless they have been given Power of Attorney.
Having a Power of Attorney in place can ensure that your wishes are carried out quickly without prolonged legal negotiations.
As part of the ‘Start the Conversation’ campaign to raise awareness about Power of Attorney information sessions are being held at local libraries.
Anyone who would like to prepare for the future is welcome to attend one of the following sessions where an expert will be on hand to give advice and answer any questions:-
• Forfar Library ‒ Tuesday 20 January 2pm - 4pm
• Arbroath Library ‒ Monday 26 January 10am -12md
• Montrose Library ‒ Tuesday 27 January 2pm - 4pm
• Monifieth Library ‒ Thursday 29 January 1.30pm -3.30pm
For more information visit the My Power of Attorney website www.mypowerofattorney.org.uk.
‘Start the Conversation’ is being funded by the Scottish Government, and supported by NHS Tayside, Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross Councils and local law firms.
