The Angus sub-branch of the Scottish Green Party has announced David Mumford as candidate for the forthcoming Westminster elections.
Mr Mumford has worked as an Episcopal minister in Brechin for many years, as well as co-ordinator of the human rights charity International Fellowship of Reconciliation, experiences which the branch feels will make him a fine addition to a growing list of talented Scottish Green candidates.
He said: “Climate change, nuclear weapons and poverty are the most dangerous threats to the future of humanity. I’m standing for the Greens as I consider their policies on these issues are right and can make a real difference.”
His candidacy follows growth Green membership in Angus and this will be the first time the party will contest all three seats covered by its branch area.
