Police investigate thefts

TAYSIDE Police are appealing for information regarding the theft of photographic equipment worth around £5,500 which was stolen from a car parked in Caddam Woods, Kirriemuir on Monday.

The grey-coloured Suzuki Vitara was parked at the woods at lunchtime.

Stolen from the vehicle, which was in a small lay-by on the (B955) Caddam Woods to Prosen Bridge road, was a Nikon D2X camera, a Nikon lens and Nikon teleconverter, filter lenses and memory cards, as well as granite-coloured Lowepro camera rucksack. A Hewlett Packard Pavilion lap top computer was also taken.

It is believed there were a number of dog walkers and drivers who would have been in the area at the time of the incident, which happened between 12.30pm and 12.45pm. Anyone who was in the area and who can assist police enquiries should call 0300 111 2222.

Officers in Forfar are carrying out enquiries following an attempted break-in to a flat in Viewmount, some time between 8am and 4pm on Monday, February 28.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area is asked to call 0300 111 2222.
