MEMBERS of the Forfar Chabanais Twinning Association would like to thank everyone who helped at or attended the recent coffee morning in the Guide Hall.
The sum of £450.67 was raised.
As this is the 20th anniversary of the twinning visits, the group members are trying to make a special effort to raise funds for this summer’s events and to publicise the visit within the local area.
A group of volunteers manned a stall at the recent jubilee event at Glamis Castle, where photographs from the first 19 visits were on display.
The Tayside Symphony Orchestra is holding a concert on Saturday, June 23 in the Reid Hall from 7.30 pm.
As some of the proceeds from this will go to the Twinning Association, a lively programme of French music has been planned.
This “Soiree de la Musique Francaise” includes works by Bizet, Offenbach and Charpentier.
It is hoped many local people will take advantage of this exciting collection of French music.
Plans are well under way for the visit of the town’s French friends from Sunday, July 29.
The programme will include outings to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Crathes Castle, and Dunkeld.
