Partnership enters its sixth year

THIS year is the sixth year of the Forfar and Area Partnership and over that period a number of successes have been achieved.

The Forfar Gala Week and Gala Day have been reintroduced, a number of events for Tartan Week have been organised, two Energy Awareness Days have been held, the establishment of the Forfar Friday Night Project, a number of clean up projects have been held across the town, a Fairtrade Forum has been set up and contributions have been made to a number of engagement and consultation exercises in the town.

None of these successes would have been achieved without the hard work of Partnership members and the support of a number of partners including Angus Council and Tayside Fire and Rescue, as well as a long list of local voluntary groups and individuals.

However, the Partnership feels that with a larger membership and greater involvement from more local groups, they could collectively achieve much more for the town. Therefore, the Partnership is inviting all interested groups and individuals within the town to a future meeting of the Partnership in order to find out more about the current activities and to get involved, contribute and suggest new ideas.

Meetings take place at 7pm in East and Old Parish Church on East High Street and the next few meetings are scheduled for: Monday, January 30; Monday, February 27; Monday, March 26 and Monday, April 30 which will also be the AGM.
