Packed five day programme for twinned church congregations

Members of the East and Old Parish Church enjoyed a packed five days playing hosts to visitors from their twinned congregation at the Zuglo Reformed Church in Budapest.

The party of 10, including pastors Janos and Naomi Szoke, arrived on Thursday and took part in a busy schedule of activities and excursions.

There was a welcoming social in the church on Thursday evening which was followed by a reception with Helen Oswald, the Provost of Angus, on Friday in the Town and County Hall, Forfar.

There was a ceilidh in the church hall on Saturday evening and a joint service on Sunday morning.

The group also visited Arbroath Abbey and Edinburgh before returning home on Tuesday.

With visitors staying with host families, personal bonds have grown much stronger, the twinning relationship between East and Old and Zuglo has deepened and invitations have already been extended for a return visit from the East and Old to Hungary.

Here is a selection of photographs taken during the visit. (All pictures EO Media).
