Kinnettles Castle, on the outskirts of Forfar, is one of three historic buildings put up for sale by exclusive venue hire company, AmaZing Venues.
Acting on behalf of parent company Clarenco LLP, Colliers International has been instructed to market the three to potential investors on an individual basis.
The other two are Ackergill Tower near John o’ Groats and Carberry Tower, situated seven miles from Edinburgh city centre.
The 19th century Baronial-style Kinnettles Castle is being marketed for offers over £2.5 million. Currently operating as an exclusive-use conference, wedding and corporate events venue, it offers well-appointed public rooms, 11 letting bedrooms with separate garden pavilion marque, all within 44 acres of parkland. The Gate Lodge has also been converted to provide two additional letting bedrooms.
Alistair Letham, director in Colliers’ Scotland Hotels team, said: “It is not often that we see properties of such great historical significance come to market, so to be appointed to dispose of three magnificent historic properties at the same time is a truly rare instruction. Each of these castles presents a unique offer and have been lovingly restored and maintained by Clarenco LLP over the course of their ownership. All three venues have flexibility of use and can either continue to be operated as exclusive-use event venues, as per AmaZing Venue’s business model or converted into a more traditional country house hotel business. We expect to receive a great deal of interest for these properties from UK-based and overseas investors.”
Founded by entrepreneur and former CEO of Dreams, Mike Clare, AmaZing Venues is a collection of unique and historic properties which used to host large-scale exclusive-use events, including weddings, corporate events and private parties.
