A Brechin businessman wondered what he had walked in on Sunday when he paid an unexpected visit to his work at the weekend.

Andy Stewart, who owns the second hand furniture store on Swan Street, attended his shop on Sunday to allow a customer to collect a sofa. It was then that Andy wondered what was going on.

“When I opened up the doors there I found a dining table and chairs set up with a couple plates with half eaten meals and used napkins on it.

“I then looked round and found a bra on the floor.

“I then noticed more clothes and shoes scattered on the floor heading through to the back of the shop.”

Andy followed the trail of clothing and from here things just went from bad to worse, or so he thought.

“When I got to the back and put on the lights I found two people in a sofa bed. They did not move and I thought they were just hoping I would turn off the lights and leave but instead I shouted and went to prod them. It was only then that I realised I had been caught out by a prank and the two people were in fact dummy heads and pillows.

“I must admit it was very good.”

Andy claims the prank was set up as retaliation from an “unsuspecting motorist” whose car received a prank parking ticket from Andy earlier this summer.
