Overnight resurfacing improvement works are due to begin this weekend on the A92 between Elliot Roundabout and Claypotts Junction to make the road surface smoother.
The works will begin on Sunday, October 4, for nine nights and covers the beginning with Nether Kelly Westbound before moving on to resurface Panlathy Westbound.
To minimise disruption to motorists travelling between Dundee and Arbroath, the works will be carried out overnight between 7pm and 7am, with no works taking place on Friday or Saturday nights.
During the works, a convoy system of traffic management will be in operation on the dualled road for the safety of the workforce and of motorists. There will be no traffic restrictions on the opposing lanes Eastbound and Westbound respectively, and no restrictions to traffic during the day.
Eddie Ross, Operating Company representative for BEAR Scotland said: “This resurfacing programme is essential to ensure the continued safe use of this stretch of the A92. The improvements, funded by Claymore Roads, are part of our long term A92 road maintenance programme and will help to ensure that the route remains fit for purpose for years to come.
“We will do everything possible to keep disruption to a minimum during these works, however, we would encourage motorists to plan their journeys and leave some extra time for travel, and ask them to drive carefully through any signed diversion routes.”
Works are being undertaken by Breedon Aggregates Ltd on behalf of Claymore Roads and supervised by BEAR Scotland Ltd.
