Local charity Angus Arts, whose motto is “Inspiring Creativity in Everyone”, is all set for its fourth BIG adventure.

BIG (Be Inspired in Glenesk) offers people the chance to get involved in fabulous outdoor arts adventures running once a month throughout the summer.

The next event ‘Lighter Than Air’ is coming up on Sunday, August 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sue Waddicor, administrator for Angus Arts said: “This adventure is all about the wind. After meeting up at The Retreat in Glenesk we will go on a very short walk to the perfect spot to draw and make things that fly and flutter. We might make kites, windmills, flags or anything else that benefits from a bit of a breeze. Our participants are always an imaginative bunch and constantly surprise us with their inventions. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to join us and it’s great when a whole family joins in. The workshop will be led by Virginia Aspinwall and Maria MacDonell, who both have lots of experience of this kind of thing.

“People need to be at the Retreat at 11 a.m. and bring a packed lunch, or one can be ordered in advance from the Retreat. It is important to book in advance and to be prepared for all weathers. Please phone at any time with enquiries and to book.”

‘Lighter Than Air’ will take place on Sunday, August 11 with participants invited to meet up at The Retreat Visitor Centre in Glenesk. It is suitable for all ages and the cost is £8. Under eights must be accompanied, adults are welcome to attend without children. A family discount is available.

There are two further BIG adventures made possible by funding from the Angus Council Community Grant Scheme. They are on Sunday, September 8 - ‘Dens, Nests and Mysterious Marvels’ and Sunday, October 6 - ‘The Biggest Picture of All.
