The Angus Farmers’ Market is at its regular venue at Forfar Mart on Saturday and the stalls will be filled with quality seasonal produce.
A new stallholder will be joining this month: Allan Ferguson from Abernethy will be introducing his chilli jellies and sauces that are perfect for adding a touch of fire to your barbecue burger or you can use them as a dipping sauce.
Resident chef Hayley Wilkes will be showing the kids how to make easy make bread sticks and will also demonstrate how to make a delicious no cook fisherman’s pie.
Regulars to the market will know that Hayley always makes lots of tasters to let you sample her wonderful dishes; she is also great at answering any questions you have regarding the produce she uses in her recipes.
If you are looking for a healthy treat for your family dog then you will find a fantastic choice of handmade treats at the Gourmet Dog treats stall.
All of the treats are made using wheat and gluten free flours and lactose free milk to be gentle on furry tummies, products include Dinky Doggy Doughnuts.
Angus summer fruits are still in season and can be found around the market in many forms including strawberry wine, raspberry drinks, jams and preserves and of course in a punnet ripe and ready for a dollop of Devenick dairy cream. The Angus Farmers market can be found in the High Street, Montrose on the first Saturday of the month and indoors at the Mart, John Street, Forfar on the second Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The market allows you to purchase fresh local produce direct from the producers in a friendly, relaxing environment and to make the most of the seasonal produce.
