Angus Council has officially handed over the new premises of Tayside Police Museum at Kirriemuir Police Station to retiring convener of Tayside Joint Police Board Ian Mackintosh.

Angus Council, in partnership with Tayside Police, has recently opened the new Kirriemuir Access office in the same building.

The new museum will be an additional heritage tourism attraction in Kirriemuir, adding to the Gateway to the Glens Museum, Barrie’s Birthplace and the Camera Obscura.

It is hoped that the new museum will open for the summer as soon as management arrangements are in place.

Cultural services staff have re-displayed many of the artefacts from the Tayside Police Museum which was formerly situated in Bell Street, Dundee.
