Angus South MSP Graeme Dey has met with service users and staff at Kirriemuir Day Care Centre, after being shown round the vital care service by manager Maureen Allan.

Mr Dey visited the care centre in Glebe Court to see what facilities are on offer for the local community and the challenges they face.

Afterwards, he said: “My visit to Kirrie Day Care Centre was very valuable.

“Whilst there I met with many of the users of the services provided, and was struck by the quality of care and the pleasant environment.

“The centre makes good use of the former manse building to cater for people not just from Kirriemuir but as far afield as Birkhill, including those who have more challenging conditions such as dementia which require specialised care.

“Maureen Allan and her team do an excellent job, as the clearly warm relationship between them and the centre’s daily visitors demonstrated.

“Whilst there I even managed to take part in the quiz, which proved to be quite a challenge given the quality of opposition!”
