A MONTHLY disco for people with learning difficulties, the disabled and their carers has been organised.

The first disco took place on the last Wednesday in September and was a success. The event started at 7 p.m. and finished at 9 p.m.

The disco will be held at The Plough in Forfar every month on the last Wednesday, apart from Christmas when it will take place on Tuesday, December 18, at the same time. The disco held in December will be on the theme of a Christmas party.

This month the disco falls on Hallowe’en and there will be a prize for the scariest costume.

November will be a disco plus an exciting session of karaoke.

The disco is strictly for people with learning difficulties, disabilities and their carers only and if the people attending require support to attend staff or parents and carers would have to attend with them.

The aim of the monthly discos is to encourage everyone to have some fun, a laugh and possibly make some new friends.

The disco is currently free to attend and anyone interested in going along can contact the organisers on 07910901567 or email wednesdaynightdisco@hotmail.co.uk.

The event is being organised by Ackie McGregor who is a support worker from Real Life Options.

Julie Wilson, also a support worker from Real Life Options, is helping out at the discos.

She said: “The last disco really was a success with a good turn out and we look forward to the future events. Everyone who attended the first disco last month really enjoyed themselves.”
