Mark gains his Phd

Mark Edward has graduated from Newcastle University after gaining his Phd (Doctor of Philosophy).

Eldest son of Douglas and Anne, Mark is a former pupil of Langlands and Forfar Academy who went on to gain a joint honours degree in Geography and International Relations at Aberdeen University.

From Aberdeen he pursued further studies and was successfully selected for an ERSC award at Newcastle University for the MA/Phd programme.

During his research for his PhD, Mark spent four months living in Kingston, Jamaica. He now works as a conference researcher for NewcastleGateshead Initiative and lectures at Newcastle University teaching a course in Public Affairs for Journalists.
