A man is to stand trial accused of selling sex videos at a paper shop.

Francis Allison and his company, Sirius Publishing Sales Ltd, face two charges at Dundee Sheriff Court.

It is alleged that on various occasions between February and April last year they supplied videos from the 7 Days News shop in Brook Street, Broughty Ferry, that were classified only for distribution from licenced sex shops.

A further charge alleges that over the same period Allison and the firm supplied 91 videos “in respect of which no classification certificate had been issued”.

Allison, 69, of Kirkcaldy, today (Friday) pleaded not guilty to the charges on summary complaint.

The case against his firm was continued without plea until next month.

Allison will stand trial in August and was ordered to attend a pre-trial hearing in July by Sheriff Alastair Carmichael.
