FORFAR band The Trade are enjoying another flurry of activity with television appearances and great gigs lined up.

The band, comprising Stevie Morris, Ross Milne, Liam Moir, Bobo Martin and Drew McLaren, have just been confirmed to play at Brixton Jamm in London supporting a Bloc Party DJ set at their after show party on September 17.

The good news for local fans is that they are running a bus to and from the gig and are looking for as many names as possible to take down the road for a wild weekend!

The band is also delighted to report their new official website ( is now up and running which falls in line perfectly with a few new gigs which have come to fruition.

Ross said: “We have been confirmed to play the first ever Famous Grouse Festival on Saturday, August 13. The headlining act for Saturday is Glasvegas, who we hosted an aftershow party for in PJ Molloy’s last year.

“The FG Fest has brought about some great opportunities due to their involvement with STV and the Hour Show.”

The band headed to Glasgow on Saturday to do some publicity and on Thursday (tomorrow) they will be filming at The Famous Grouse Experience in Crieff for The Hour Show.

Ross continued: “This has come at a good time for us with the website happening, as we had a TV advert running for our album release through STV and are in talks with Simon Stratford, to start our internet advertising campaign to boost our profile and get the music to a wider audience.

“On the same day as the FG Fest, we are heading to the AECC at night to play as the guest act on the NEX Factor (North East X-Factor) to raise money for building a school in Tanzania.

“This all came about when the charity heard our track ‘In Colour’ and asked if they could use it on their docufilm. The Trade have been involved with this since it started. The talent to be show-cased on the night is amazing.”

The Trade’s line up has not changed for the 1ast four years and was made up of Ross (vocals), Bobo (drums), Craig Murray (guitars), Liam (guitars) and Drew (bass guitar and backing vocals). As of June this year Craig bowed out of the limelight and Stevie Morris has taken his place.

They have been touring extensively for the best part of three years up and down the country at some of Scotland’s best loved venues, putting their hearts and souls into every performance

As well as playing the best venues The Trade have also supported some fantastic acts over the years such as The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, The Stiff Little Fingers Ray Wilson & Stiltskin, The Twang, Dave Arcari, The Twilight Sad, The Xcerts, Chris Helm, Mark Morriss and The Underground Hero’s.
