The six finalists at Murton Farm during the cook off.

SECOND year pupils at Forfar Academy found themselves “in the soup” recently when they took part in the final of an annual soup making competition at Murton Farm.

The six pupils worked in pairs to prepare and cook winning soups. Judith McVicar (owner) worked with the pupils to ensure all safety and hygiene standards were met.

At lunchtime the soups were all ready to be sold to customers with the first soup selling out in the first hour; by the end of the lunchtime all soups sold out.

The overall winners were Greg Simpson and Fraser White with Creamy Red Pepper and Butternut Squash, second were Callum Clark and Callum O’Brien with Meaty Minestrone and third were Beth Kelly and Alison Jennings with Chicken, Bacon and Sweetcorn.

A big thank you was extended to Murton Farm for hosting the event.
