RURAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS AFFECTED BY WEATHER CONDITIONS

RAIN, sleet and snow hit Angus overnight and have continued to affect large parts of Scotland.

Motorists were advised not to travel on Thursday (today) unless absolutely necessary and local primary schools in outlying rural areas were forced to close their doors due to the bad weather.

Those schools in the local area reported to be closed all day are: Glenisla Primary School, Kilry Primary School, Lethnot Primary School, Lintrathen Primary School and Tarfside Primary School.

As weather conditions show no sign of abating, local residents can keep informed of school closures by visiting the Angus Council website (www.angus.gov.uk), listening to Radio Tay (102.8/96.4 MHz FM or 1161/1584 kHz AM), phoning Tay Connect on 01382 457457 (press selection code 4060), or contacting Angus Council's ACCESS Line on 08452 777 778 (from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday).
