MONTHS of dedicated rehearsals will pay off tonight (Wednesday) when it’s curtain up in the Reid Hall, Forfar.

Members of Forfar and Kirriemuir STARS’ pantomime ‘Aladdin’ are getting ready for a week of great entertainment.

Forty young performers will take to the stage for the nightly performances from Wednesday through to Friday, whilst there is a Saturday matinee.

The cast consists entirely of five to 16 year olds who are looking forward to appearing on stage once again, with many of them having previously wowed local audiences with their performances in last year’s hit Rising Youngstars’ show, Guys & Dolls.

“Obviously, Aladdin, which is a traditional pantomime, is very different from a Broadway show such as ‘Guys and Dolls’, but the young people involved have made the transition perfectly,” said Fiona Retalic, the pantomime’s producer and also the producer of ‘Guys & Dolls’.

“A wealth of young talent will be on show during ‘Aladdin’ and I’d like to encourage everyone, of all ages, to come along – not only for a great night of panto but also to see the stars of tomorrow singing, dancing and acting their hearts out!”

The cast (in order of appearance) comprises Jeanie Needlehole - Amy Baigrie; Abanazer - James Keenan; Wishee Washee Imogen Walker; Widow Twankee - Graham Turner; Pee Hi - Eilidh Watt; Pee Lo - Cerys Paterson; Aladdin - Tasmin Glass; Princess So Shi - Heather Paterson; Dim Sum - Abbie McLaren; Emperor One Hung Lo - Thomas Fullerton;

Empress Who Flung Dung - Rebekah Mitchell; Genie of the Lamp - Nicoll Butter.

Dancers - Bethan Forrest, Katie Gibb, Georgia Tato, Ellen Wilson.

Ensemble - Danielle Brown, Matthew Colvin, Amy Coutts, Nicola Dobbie, Lauren Downie, Maddie Farquhar, Mhairi Ferrier, Katy Findlay, Catrina Fraser, Callum Gibb, Millie Houstoun, Alice Marshall, Lucy McLaren, Hannah Mitchell, Julia Murie, Isla Nelson, Kara Paul, Jasmine Retalic, Ciara Roger, Emily Simpson, Kyle Simpson, Mary Simpson, Penny Stephens, Rose Stephens, Erin Watt,
