Praise from body’s District Governer

THE FORFAR Rotary Club president Tim Hale welcomed District Governor Cath Chorley to their meeting which took place last week.

Cath Chorley has been a Rotarian for nearly 10 years, having served as the first president of the newly formed Dunfermline Carnegie Club from 2003 until 2004 and she is now a member of Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay Club.

Following the meal and other business, D.G. Cath was invited to address the club.

She gave a very concise presentation on her opinions of the Rotary Movement.

Delivered in a relaxed manner, it was a most interesting insight into her views to promote better relationships with local community and she congratulated the Forfar club for their programme of projects which does just that.

Projects such as the Primary School Quiz and Young Chef competition mean involvement with schools and this is where Rotary starts.

It is sending out a message that Rotary Clubs are not just a social club for ‘stuffy’ business men and women but about people who care about their local as well as international obligations in order to provide ‘Service above Self’.

The vote of thanks was by Rotarian Ian Findlay who congratulated D.G, Cath on her most interesting talk.
