POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AFTER ANGUS COLLISION

POLICE in Angus are appealing for information after three people were injured – one seriously – in a two vehicle collision on the unclassified Arbroath to Bowriefauld road, at about 5.30pm on Monday (February 22).

The collision, between a blue-coloured Vauxhall Astra and a black-coloured Mitsubishi 4x4, happened at crossroads near to Gask Farm and Bractullo.

Emergency services were quickly in attendance and Tayside Fire and Rescue released all three of the people who were involved in the collision.

A 51-year-old woman – a passenger in the Astra – suffered serious chest and abdominal injuries, as well as a fractured knee. She was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where her condition is described as serious but stable.

The 62-year-old male driver of the Astra was also taken to hospital, having sustained cuts to his head and minor back and knee injuries. He was detained overnight before being released the following day.

The 37-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi vehicle was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital attention.

Tayside Police requests that anyone who was in the area and the time and who witnessed the collision contacts 0300 111 2222, or speaks to any police officer.
