Police warning over counterfeit £20 notes

POLICE in Kirriemuir have issued a warning relating to counterfeit £20 Royal Bank of Scotland notes circulating in the town.

The notes were tendered as genuine at the Spar Lindsay Street, Kirriemuir between January 29 and February 1. They all relate to Royal Bank of Scotland £20 notes bearing the serial number C14367720.

Anyone thinking they have come into possession of these notes or similar notes should in the first instance take them to the Royal Bank of Scotland who will confirm if they are genuine or counterfeit. Any notes found to be counterfeit should be handed in to the police for enquiry.

Police are also investigating the theft of power tools from a van in the Lintrathen area between January 21 and 28.
