New van for Forfar Resource Store

editorial image

THE FORFAR Resource Store has just taken delivery of a new van.

After months of saving, the charity, situated on Don Street, Forfar, has made sure that it can continue to furnish the homes of people who have acquired a property following a period of homelessness by buying a brand new van to assist with deliveries and picking up donations.

The old van had become unreliable.

Councillor Glennis Middleton, the chairperson of the Forfar Resource Store for 15 years, said: “Every penny we make comes from the donations that we get through selling to the general public.”

The charity raised enough money through donations and money raised from sales at the store to purchase the van and took delivery of it last Monday.

The Forfar Resource Store accepts donations of anything that can be used by anyone else as long as it is in reasonable condition

For example, suites must carry a fire label. The items that are collected are sorted out by the team of workmen and volunteers.

The store also sells a variety of good quality used furniture with items such as sofas, cookers, microwaves and other kitchen appliances.

You can visit the Forfar Resource Store with items to donate or larger items can be arranged to be uplifted and collections and deliveries can be done by the Forfar Resource Store’s van.
